Gutter Cleaning in Peterborough

Out here on the edge of the fens, the land lies flat and the sky does not. When the rain comes in it comes in earnest, sheeting across Peterborough with nowhere to run but down. That's the moment a tired gutter gives itself away, water tipping over the lip and painting a dark streak down the front of the house while you watch from the window.

Ben's Gutters has stayed a step ahead of that weather since 2010. We know this city and its villages by their rooflines, from the Victorian terraces in the centre to the newer estates at Hampton, Orton and Stanground, and on out to Werrington, Bretton, Whittlesey, Yaxley and Market Deeping. Whether your roof was raised last century or last year, we know how it holds up through a wet Cambridgeshire winter, and where it doesn't.

Our kit does the hard part. SkyVac vacuum systems reach up and draw the mess out from ground level, with ladders and cherry pickers on hand wherever access calls for them. Blockages gone, moss lifted, rainwater pointed firmly back where it belongs. Fair prices, honest quotes, and a phone that gets answered seven days a week. Say the word and a fast, free quote is on its way.

FAQ's: Gutter Cleaning in Peterborough

  • How much does it cost to have gutters cleaned?

Peterborough prices start from £67 for bungalows, £97 for two-storey homes and £137 for detached properties, VAT included. The exact figure depends on your home's size, the access, and any repairs needed. Call for a quick, accurate quote.

  • Is it worth paying someone to clean gutters?

Yes. We reach height safely, clear every blockage properly and catch small problems early. Given how hard fen rain is on local gutters, a clean once or twice a year costs far less than repairing water damage later.

  • How often should gutters be cleaned?

Twice a year suits most Peterborough homes, once in spring and again in autumn once the leaves are down. Properties under trees, or those catching the full sweep of a wet Cambridgeshire winter, often benefit from an extra visit.

  • What is the best way to clean gutters?

A high-reach vacuum system worked from the ground is the safest and most thorough method, lifting out leaves, moss and silt without ladders. Stubborn build-up is cleared by hand and the downpipes flushed, so the water drains freely again.

  • How do you clean gutters without getting on the roof?

Our SkyVac vacuum reaches the whole run from ground level, with no ladders or roof access needed. We work along the full length, then check the channel is clear and draining properly before we finish. Safe, and no mess left behind.

  • What happens if you don't clean your gutters?

Blocked gutters overflow, sending rainwater down your walls and into the fascias, roofline and foundations. Over time that means damp, rot and costly repairs, while trapped debris draws in moss, pests and nesting birds. Regular cleaning avoids the lot.

  • How do I know if my gutters need cleaning?

Watch for water spilling over the edges when it rains, gutters sagging away from the fascia, plants or moss sprouting in the channel, and damp or green staining down your walls. Birds nesting up there is another clear sign to book in.

Case Study

Date: March 2026

Service: Residential gutter cleaning

Location: Peterborough

The call came from a Victorian terrace near the city centre, where every heavy shower sent a sheet of water over the front gutter and straight down the brickwork. Up top, the cause was plain: a full run choked with moss, rotted leaves and grit, with both downpipes blocked solid at the outlets.

We cleared the channel end to end, freed the downpipes and ran water through until it drained clean away. The next downpour passed without a drop going over the edge, the wall was left to dry out at last, and we swept the path below before we packed up.
